CREATE-MAKE-DESIGN AND HAVE FUN!

A fully-guided tour with Shuji and Alison Yamazaki from Wabi Sabi as your tutor and Jacky Wyatt from Wacky Jacky’s Textiles as your host.

Are you a lover of all things Shibori and Indigo?

Yes, that’s right! This time around, we have Shuji teaching us tying and clumping shibori methods and Alison will teach us wrapping and stitching shibori methods.

All PFD (prepared for fabric dyeing) cotton & linen will be supplied and you will stitch, wrap, clump and tie your PFD to make the most amazing designs.

After 4 intense days of Indigo Dyeing, we move onto the 2nd part of your exciting retreat.

Alison Yamazaki will help you create traditional Japanese Bags using your dyed pieces and finish off with chiku-chiku stitched runner or picture, showing you how to use your scraps in an inventive way.

How much is it to secure a spot in this retreat?

  • Single AU$3,490

  • Twin Share AU$3,190

  • Triple Share AU$2,990 (2 ladies must share King Bed + 1 single)

Timing indicates an approximate of activities rather than actual ones.

What’s included?

  • Initial installment: This is your deposit required to secure your position on the retreat - $1000.

    Second installment: Due 6 months prior to your retreat – $1000.

    Final installment: Due 3 month prior to your retreat – Balance.

  • Return transfers from airport to hotel in Bali (within allocated days and hours – otherwise small transfer fee will apply)

    Day out to make your own Batik Fabric and shopping tour.

  • Welcome dinner with a glass of wine or beer.

    Seafront hotel/villas accommodation.

  • 4 intensive shibori and dyeing days

    Part 2 is 2 days tutoring making your masterpieces

    All fabrics needed to make your project with the colour of your choice.

    Access to Wacky Jacky’s Bali fabric shop at special VIP discounted rates.

    A sewing machine for your use.

    Optional days of batik painting, Balinese cooking Class, Indigo Batik Day

  • Plenty of good quality local restaurants, shops to browse through.

    Massages / shopping / snorkelling / relaxing.

  • Please be aware that the first day of your retreat and the last day of your retreat are travel days. For example, this retreat starts on 22 July to 02 August 2024, which means 22 July is the day you fly in, and 02 August is the day you fly out.

    Please aim to land in Bali early afternoon on your first day, and exit Bali in the early evening / late night on the last day.

    If your flight is out of these times, an AUD$45 (per car) transfer fee is applicable.

    If you wish to fly in earlier we will pick you up from the airport on your arrival and bring you to the hotel in Candidasa (and book extra nights for you – at your cost). This service is an additional AUD$45 per car. We can also pick you up on the first day from a hotel that you have booked yourself (within Kuta, Legian, or Sanur within the above times) – as we will be on the way to the airport, and can stop in and pick you up.
