Wacky Jacky’s Textiles is happy to present the next step in the Ladies-only retreats in Asia.
This is a fully guided tour with Jacky as your host, where we are offering an exciting expedition into Java to experience a different side of Indonesia. This is a once in a lifetime trip and is a fully guided tour. Your host Jacky and her treasured sidekick Wayan will be with you every step of the way to ensure a smooth and fun trip.
The trip starts by flying into Bali, with a one-night stop. The next day we fly into Yogyakarta for 2 nights, with day trips to some of the most interesting sights in Asia. We are staying in an area called Malioboro in Yogyakarta which has lots of night markets, shops and street stalls within a short walk from the hotel.
We then move onto Surakarta where the fun begins. Making 50 metres of your own batik fabric – you can break this down to 5m lots. You will be choosing colours and tjaps to make up your own range and working alongside the staff in a batik factory.
We have 4 nights in Surakarta and the hotel is in one of the larger shopping precincts in the city. Apart from making our Batik, we will be visiting a Tjap maker (stamps for making batik), famous batik lane, antique market to buy tjaps and traditional batik factories where you can purchase batik at amazing prices.
After our intense 5 days in Surakarta, we will be heading to a lovely country town in the mountains for 2 nights (spending one day enjoying the sights and a bit of down time). On day 10 we fly back to Bali and head by bus back to Candidasa. The next 4 nights will be spent there and you’ll have time to chill out after a huge 10 days travelling.

Limited Mobility – We kindly ask that individuals who are unable to walk unaided refrain from joining our activities, as our daily routine often involves walking, albeit at a leisurely pace. There is a lot of walking involved in this particular retreat – so it is essential you must be able to walk unassisted.
Timing indicates an approximate of activities rather than actual ones.

Please be aware that the first day of your retreat and the last day of your retreat are travel days. This retreat starts on 3 June 2024, which will be the day you’re flying in and ends on 16 June 2024, which will be the day you’re flying out.
Please aim to land in Bali early afternoon on your first day, and exit Bali in the early evening / late night on the last day.
If your flight is out of these times, an AUD$45 (per car) transfer fee is applicable.
If you wish to fly in earlier we will pick you up from the airport on your arrival and bring you to the hotel in Candidasa (and book extra nights for you – at your cost). This service is an additional AUD$45 per car. We can also pick you up on the first day from a hotel that you have booked yourself (within Kuta, Legian, or Sanur within the above times) – as we will be on the way to the airport, and can stop in and pick you up.
